Spider-Man 4 Release Date

If you’re eager for the release date of Spider-Man 4, you’re not alone! Tom Holland is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and here’s everything we currently know about the upcoming film.

Tom Holland’s Journey as Spider-Man

Tom Holland first swung into the MCU as the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler in Captain America: Civil War. He has since appeared in Infinity War, Endgame, and his own trilogy of Spider-Man films: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home.

In No Way Home, Holland’s Spider-Man teamed up with previous versions of the character, portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, to battle iconic villains from across the multiverse, including Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman, and Lizard.

There’s plenty more in store for this iteration of Spider-Man as part of Marvel’s upcoming slate, which is exciting news for fans.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Tom Holland announced that filming for Spider-Man 4 will commence in Summer 2025. He expressed his excitement, stating, “Next summer, we start shooting. Everything’s good to go — we’re nearly there. Super exciting. I can’t wait!”

Who’s in the Cast?

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man 4.

On October 17, 2024, Holland shared on the Rich Roll podcast that he had read an early draft of the Spider-Man 4 script. He remarked, “It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room like this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”

However, he also highlighted some challenges the sequel faces, particularly in fitting into the larger MCU narrative. “That machine has got to keep running. You have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture,” he noted.

There’s speculation that Miles Morales may make his live-action debut in Spider-Man 4, potentially paving the way for a new generation of Spider-Man. If this happens, Marvel will likely cast a relatively unknown actor for the role.

Recent rumors also suggest that multiple villains may appear in Spider-Man 4, with Thomas Haden Church possibly returning as Sandman. Given the events of No Way Home, it’s uncertain whether Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will reprise their roles as MJ and Ned, as they no longer know Peter Parker’s identity.

One notable absence will be director Jon Watts, who directed the first three films but will not return for this installment.

Spider-Man 4 Plot Details and Rumors

While there’s no official plot confirmation for Spider-Man 4, rumors indicate that the film may explore multiverse themes and feature Spider-Man teaming up with Daredevil against Kingpin.

Following the events of No Way Home, the next Spider-Man film will likely address the fallout of Peter Parker’s identity being erased from everyone’s memory. Expect to see this version of Peter Parker attempting to rebuild his relationships with MJ and Ned.

Kevin Feige has confirmed that Spider-Man will lead the MCU’s “street-level heroes” alongside Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, portrayed by Charlie Cox. This film may follow up on Daredevil: Born Again, with the duo facing off against one of the MCU’s greatest villains, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.

Additionally, following the post-credit scene of No Way Home, we know that part of the Venom symbiote was left behind by Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock. While the future of Venom 3 remains uncertain, it’s likely that the symbiote will find a new host within the MCU.

Fans are also speculating about the potential appearance of the black suit Spider-Man, given its ties to the original Secret Wars comic book saga.

Furthermore, there are discussions about Miles Morales, the protagonist of the Spider-Verse films, who has yet to make an appearance in the MCU. According to reports, Marvel envisions Miles as Peter’s roommate, diverging from the traditional mentor-mentee dynamic seen in animated adaptations.

Recent rumors suggest that Spider-Man 4 will incorporate multiverse elements similar to No Way Home, although this has not been officially confirmed.

In a report by The Cosmic Circus, Alex Perez indicated that Holland’s Spider-Man might acquire the symbiote suit in the coming years, potentially retaining it for subsequent films. He also hinted at the possibility of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their roles for a more extended appearance, given the film’s multiversal context.
