Finding Your Polling Location
Election Day has arrived, and voters in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut who haven’t cast early ballots are heading to the polls. Here’s how to find your polling place.
New York
Where to Vote
Even if you participated in the primary, verify your polling location for the general election, as it may have changed. New York residents can check their polling place online at voterlookup.elections.ny.gov by entering your name, date of birth, county, and zip code.
ID Requirements
Registered voters in New York do not need to show ID unless they are first-time voters who did not provide identification during registration.
New Jersey
Where to Vote
New Jersey residents can locate their polling place online by entering their address at voter.svrs.nj.gov/polling-place-search. Your polling location is also printed on the sample ballot mailed to you. Always double-check, as locations can change.
ID Requirements
In New Jersey, ID is not required unless you didn’t verify your identity during registration. Acceptable forms of ID include a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, utility bill, bank statement, or government document.
Connecticut
Where to Vote
Connecticut residents can find their polling location at portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx.
ID Requirements
In Connecticut, you must show ID to vote. Most voters can present a social security card or a pre-printed form of ID with their name and address, name and signature, or name and photograph. First-time voters need a photo ID or a utility bill with their address.
